IMG 7493 It pops onto the OEM mirror just fine. The sun visor will hit it now though. IMG 7494 Menu. IMG 7495 Format Card? OK IMG 7497 Format SD Card Fail. Awesome. Failed 2 more times then succeeded. No idea why. IMG 7498 The card in question. IMG 7499 Front view can record now. Next we get the rear camera hooked up.
IMG 7500 Van life picture isn't bad. And wow does my steep street look flat here. IMG 7501 Wire successfully fished into the interior. IMG 7502 There was already a hole for it. IMG 7503 This seems to be going well so far. IMG 7504 Working on a 10 degree slope was annoying. It was worth the trouble to dig out the ladder. IMG 7505 Ya gotta line up the outer hole with the inner one.
IMG 7506 Longer bolt of same diameter and pitch. IMG 7507 IMG 7508 Spacer just the right depth. IMG 7509 Problem. That hole isn't drilled for a bolt this big. IMG 7510 Not easy to remove this, but not impossible. IMG 7511 Bigger hole now, with a good margin.
IMG 7512 IMG 7513 Good idea BUT that bolt head is too big and interfered with adjusting the angle of the camera. We try again. IMG 7514 3M tape is the easy way out. IMG 7515 This seems like a good spot. HOWEVER. The door will hit it. Argh. We try again. IMG 7516 We get as much slack as we can. IMG 7517 [I still haven't realized yet here that the door would hit the camera.]
IMG 7518 We connect the wiring all the way to the main unit. IMG 7519 IMG 7520 This will eventually pass within the walls, but for now we can prove things work quick and dirty. IMG 7521 IMG 7522 IMG 7523 Rear view works!
IMG 7524 Finally it is moved to a safe spot. That cable needs to be tidied a bit so it doesn't appear in the factory camera field of view. IMG 7525 Dual view. IMG 7531 And now: baby spiders. IMG 7532 Curry reward for a good day's work.
