IMG 0311 Sunset was 6:31 and here at 7:08 it isn't dark enough for the comet to show, even with the camera. IMG 0312 Now 7:15, almost 45 minutes after Sunset and a faint hint of it is appearing. IMG 0313 Now it is pretty clear. Just about half way between Venus (brightest dot lower left of center) and Bootes (brightest do on the right up near the redwood branches) IMG 0314 IMG 0315 IMG 0316 7:28 PM and astronomical twilight has begun. This is one of my favorites.
IMG 0317 Zoom in! IMG 0318 A bit darker sky exposure makes the tail pop. IMG 0319 IMG 0320 Venus occulted by a Chinese Elm leaf. IMG 0321 IMG 0322
IMG 0323 IMG 0324 IMG 0325 IMG 0326 IMG 0327 Another of my faves. The comet is going to be fighting more light pollution as it drops into The City. IMG 0328

IMG 0340 IMG 0341 IMG 0342 IMG 0344 IMG 0345 IMG 0346 Flights in and out of SFO and OAK make guest appearances.
IMG 0347 Almost exiting twilight and heading into plain old night. Comet impossible to spot by naked eye again. Camera can still get it but peak show is over.
