IMG 1124 Yes, the stuff I ordered is still in there. It sure looks like an empty box. Didn't feel like one though. IMG 1125 We remove three rows of cedar from the cieling. IMG 1126 New furring strip cut to length. Fortunately this was left over and sitting around from an old project. IMG 1127 The bag manufacturer supplies these for installations without L track. You are supposed to drill into the sheet metal of the van. Hence, self tapping sheet metal screws. IMG 1128 We try and mark the depth on the bit so as to not drill too far and put a hole in the roof of the van! This was well-intentioned but the tape didn't hold up. IMG 1129 Feels installed.
IMG 1130 Like so. IMG 1131 Once bags are hung from it, it pulls out. IMG 1132 Just not long enough to go through the furring strip and still have threads to engage the sheet metal above. IMG 1133 The wood screws used to hold the bag to the strip seem fine. IMG 1135 Let's take this down and get some longer sheet metal screws. This turned out to almost require special trips, as the size is sort of unusual. IMG 1136 Screws that are about 1/4" longer snug up really well.
IMG 1137 The cedar goes back up. IMG 1138 First bag up. Seems pretty solid. IMG 1139 Second bag up. Left a little space in between to use the mesh end pockets in there. The overhang on the bed doesn't interfere with feet, so yay. IMG 1140 Big discounts at the local shop. IMG 1141
