Time to do a little work on adapting the van to the new layout. Moving some light switches and marking them here.
Back to this guy.
Much of the crowd has gone home already so no one is bogarting this popular spot where it is very easy to get in and out of the water.

I forgot to bring a ball but Koba liked this stick so much he was at times only half willing to drop it so I could throw it again.
Steve has gone home so I solo ride the path around the lake in the other direction from camp. Here's the biggest (I think) creek entering the lake.
Long view from this end. And like I said, they have put a lot of work into this path.
Them folk with shotguns do travel.

Bike path crosses some campground access roads and you have to keep your head on a swivel to make sure you spot them.
This campground is super crowded since it offers an easy walk to water's edge.

Still amused by the shotgun patina.
This vista is about as far as we can go today. Didn't want to leave Koba alone too long. Turned up the electric motor boost control to get home faster :)
Not only do creeks feed the lake but water is pumped in from higher elevation reservoirs. Power is generated each step of the way.
It ain't scenic but it is probably why the lake is here.
Best snow-capped backdrop on this route.
Enjoying a nice refrigerated delicacy after.
Not forgetting the Feverfew while in camp.
Instagram moment fails: 1 Bathrooms, 2 dumpster.
Alan knows what I'm talking about here.
This log is so twisted up with knots from limbs that it just does not want to split. Only managed that one little chunk. Even with the help of that rock.
Can you spot the moon?
How about now?
Mr. Situational Awareness doesn't see it yet.
Squirrels and chipmunks have it pretty good around here.
While doing our last walk of the night we spot these next to the trail.
A whole bunch of crawdads.
More like craw-didn't.
They sell these as bait for the larger Mackinaw.
A smaller creek that feeds in to the lake. Those are Azaleas. There's a whole Azalea Campground on the other side of the lake. Didn't see any there when I passed through.
Chock full of bugs here too.
Plenty of room to let the creek pass through. And like I said, they did a lot of work on this bike path.
iPhone camera did not cooperate one bit on focusing on that foreground blossom.
Post ride burrito from El Farolito. Good data collection on this trip for how often I can run the microwave on battery power.
Signs of a prior party #1
Last fire!
The goal tonight is to burn up that last big log.
