Holiday be damned. If you get there at 7:30 you've got your choice of parking. I'm that many years old now.
Lowest tide we've ever seen here?
Nice morning.
Clam poop?
Escape from San Francisco
Koba keeps his eye on the ball.
The ocean, it has a flavor.
phlpphphplpllllpppp
Satisfied
Finally getting around to fixing this thing too. Bad knockoff gasket must go.
Let's properly fix that lock washer too. That second tab usage was a bit sketchy but it proved the concept.

Air wrench gets it done without shreds of rag inside the motor.
New. Note the location of the nut was marked before removing. It was not quite up to the specified torque when tightening with the hand method and jamming something between the gears. Since the impact driver doesn't have a torque reading, we are just gonna have to eyeball it.
That key doesn't fit very tight. Lots of free play until you torque it down.
Tightened a bit past before, until a flat lines up.
Hammered home.
They went to enough effort and expense to make a proper gasket. Just not enough attention to detail.
Bolt holes too small.
Dowel holes also critically too small.
This is close to where the leak was happening. Things really had to get warped to line up here.
Drops right on. Lays flat. Much better.
Cleaned up and ready.
The manual says to line this up, but shows the side you can't see when you are holding it up to the engine.
Would be much better if they said to hold this like this when putting the cover on.
Man that cable is fiddly.
All done but the crankshaft nut. Had to go to Autozone and get more blue loctite. The tube I had melted the cap and leaked, it had been sitting in the rollaway so long
After his morning at the beach, he's ready to be a dust dog.
We make a run to the grocery store and try one of the other varieties.
This picture is a note to myself to see if I have good records of the last fork service (sadly, no). Not sure what made that stain.
Sounded very sweet after starting it up. Next up is new rotors and pads on the front.
