Washers on either side of the fork mount can be useful for caliper-centering adjustment in the plane of the rotor.
Loosening the mounting bolts for the rotors allows them to be angled enough for the caliper to clear the edge of the rim. Ah ha.
New pads have this much friction material.
We'll call that 6mm.
The pads tend to be more worn on one edge.
Thick end is only about 1mm worn.
Similar on the other pad.
So, the worn pads theory is not very convincing now, for why the lever travel is excessive. I may try bleeding the brakes off the rotors, where I can reorient them easily.
Not really measuring max wear here, as there are thin bands in line with the cross holes. This is about 1/100th of an inch under minimum (4.5mm) though.
5mm for the new one
Beauty, eh?
Now where can I get a 1" block to put in there while I bleed these? Will probably wind up using the old pads and some wooden construction shims
