IMG 8928 Purslane found chopped off it's main plant and lying in the sidewalk is doing OK in a pot. IMG 8929 IMG 8931 Exterior wall of the house, in the shade. Eek. IMG 8932 Not sure I believe this. Could put your bare hand on it no prob. IMG 8933 Time to replace some seals and o-rings. IMG 8934 General kit for many Fox shocks.
IMG 8935 Had to pull quite hard to get it to start to open. That pivot shaft is not something that can be removed with hand pressure right now. But it needs to come out to slide the air can off. IMG 8936 Can push it fairly far with this but not all the way. IMG 8937 Can push it out with this far enough that finger grip will finish it. IMG 8938 Now we are ready. IMG 8939 Extra grip from the rod through the mount really helps. Look at that sludge inside! IMG 8940 SLUUUUUUUUDGGE.
IMG 8941 Clean. [Alan is scandalized by the spot where the coating is worn away.] IMG 8942 The o-ring that varies from model to model. Must match against the choices in the kit. IMG 8943 This one. Old parts go in the bin so they don't get mixed up. IMG 8944 Easy seal and rings to remove. IMG 8945 Dust seal. That sludge inside says this was not doing a great job anymore. IMG 8946 Difficult seal and rings to remove. Patience required. Avoid scratching the interior surfaces.
IMG 8947 New and old seals. Clean tube. There was even more sludge hiding inside. IMG 8948 New seals and rings in. The plastic rings have to be bent some interesting shapes to get them in. IMG 8949 New dust seal. IMG 8950 Firm pressure again required to get the air can back onto the inner shaft. IMG 8951 Squeeze the remainder of the fluid into the chamber then screw it shut. IMG 8952 Travel indicator in place. It's been years since the original disappeared.
IMG 8953 Pivot shaft went in with hand pressure with a bit of lube on it. IMG 8954 Ready to pump up and remount.
