IMG 1035 He heard me handling the plastic bag the replacement parts come in. IMG 1036 Wasn't sure they would include the tool so I got my own out. Good thing they did, as the tip needs to be longer than the ones I have. IMG 1038 Old vs new. Some wear is visible but probably not enough to account for the issues. IMG 1039 Same story here. IMG 1041 IMG 1042
IMG 1043 New. IMG 1044 Old IMG 1045 T6 tool. IMG 1047 Now that right there looks like a problem. IMG 1048 IMG 1051
IMG 1052 New lace threaded and even. 10-15cm should extend out here, they say. IMG 1054 One down. IMG 1055 Two down. IMG 1056 Wow do they absolutely say nothing about how to get this spool engaged on its center post. And what to do about the slack in the lace as you do that. IMG 1057 Once you get the spool on, finishing up is easy. IMG 1060 This side is in better shape. Just doing it to keep things even.
IMG 1061 IMG 1063 The wires are a bit stiff and you pull them tight against the inside of the spool, and they flex back out a bit, blocking the hole. IMG 1065 Stick something in the other side to keep the hole clear? IMG 1067 Seems like it might work IMG 1068 It was really tricky to get to this point again. Actually had to take the dial back off after buttoning it up the first time and trying it. IT tightened but would not loosen. IMG 1069 On the second try things spooled a bit more freely and it was good.
