IMG 8256 This kind of place. IMG 8257 One of these things is not like the others. IMG 8258 That is a lot of sausage and gravy. IMG 8259 IMG 8260 Not quite as old and historic as the Hall but still worth a look. IMG 8261 Not much else going on here but us bikers.
IMG 8262 IMG 8263 48.7mpg getting up here. Heavy load and high speed climbing drops the usual mileage. IMG 8264 Easy to miss this place. IMG 8265 IMG 8266 I should have gotten a beer. IMG 8267
IMG 8268 Late lunch happened a few times on this ride. IMG 8269 Our kind of place. IMG 8270 Chicken bacon ranch. It hit the spot. IMG 8271 IMG 8272 IMG 8273 57mpg.
IMG 8274 Garmin did not know how to route to some important milestones for us, even though it showed them by name on the maps. Weird. Also couldn't route to Boca Reservoir, or to the town of Graegle. IMG 8275 Repairs underway for a tool-kit holder that started coming loose. IMG 8276 The camp host at the Boca Springs campground was out of wood to sell. [There were other things one could say about her.] So I went back to this place at the nearest freeway exit and got some. Rok straps for the win. IMG 8277 It was a nice campsite. A bit of noise now and then from the other humans, but a nice space. IMG 8278 IMG 8279 Plenty of room.
IMG 8280 Demonstration of the way to carry a 750 of whiskey without a heavy/fragile glass bottle. IMG 8281 Boca Springs campground is named after this. IMG 8283 This was the water supply for the campground. It was very good. IMG 8285 IMG 8286 All set up. IMG 8287 Good advice.
IMG 8290 Well it turns out the campground had a bit of firewood after all. IMG 8291 The sudden and dramatic return of Hotwood! IMG 8292 The only time we wound up doing a meal in camp. IMG 8297 Campfire glow and a clear starry sky.
